From October 7th to 11th, 2024, the CultourGastronomy course was put to the test during a Short-term Learning Activity hosted by the University of Salamanca (USAL), our Spanish partner. This event brought together 19 participants from Bulgaria, Italy, France, Greece, and Spain for an immersive experience in the heart of Spain’s gastronomy and cultural traditions.
Over the course of five dynamic days, trainers, food producers, and tourism providers engaged in a comprehensive program designed to enhance their skills in gastronomy tourism, sustainable tourism development, and entrepreneurship. The participants had the opportunity to delve into hands-on activities, collaborative team work, and interactive lessons, all focused on creating innovative and sustainable tourism experiences.
A highlight of the week was the chance to meet local producers and chefs, who shared their expertise and passion for the region’s iconic products. Participants savored the flavors of Salamanca, tasting the renowned Iberian ham and the rich sheep milk cheese that the area is famous for.
The valuable feedback and evaluations from the participants provided the project partners with key insights to refine and enhance the course content before its wider dissemination. These contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring that the CultourGastronomy project delivers high-quality results that meet the needs of the tourism and gastronomy sectors.
With this successful test phase completed, we are excited to move forward and share these improved tools and knowledge with a broader audience!
